Thank you for making your time available to view the uThukela Water Web Site. uThukela Water (Pty) Ltd is the first South African municipal entity for the provision of water and sanitation services. The entity was formed in terms of the Municipal Systems Act No 32 of 2000, and operates in terms of a long term water services provider agreement between uThukela Water and its shareholders. The shareholders of uThukela Water (Pty) Ltd are three Water Services Authorities ,namely Amajuba, Newcastle and Umzinyathi Municipalities.

uThukela Water commenced providing water and sanitation services on 1 July 2004 and currently serves approximately 290 000 households.
